about the artist...
Ian Waller is an English artist now living in Cairns as an Australian resident along with his wife. Ian first created his Idols & Superstars paintings using the medium of silicone back in 2000 and called the technique ‘Monochrome in Silicone’. He portrayed such stars as Frank Sinatra, David Bowie, Robbie Williams, Steve McQueen, Robert DeNiro and many more. Though effective and popular the medium had a limited life. This is when Ian embarked upon creating Your Life Your Art.
Having created artworks of many people’s Idols & Superstars in silicone and then in acrylic, the contemporary style was proving very popular. Many requests began arriving from individuals to have themselves, their children and their special occasions re-created from their own favourite photographs into stylish modern works of art for their homes.
